The Valley of Vision

Resurrection
O GOD OF MY EXODUS,
Great was the joy of Israel’s sons,
when Egypt died upon the shore,
Far greater the joy
when the Redeemer’s foe lay crushed in the dust.
Jesus strides forth as the victor,
conqueror of death, hell, and all opposing might;
He bursts the bands of death,
tramples the powers of darkness down,
and lives for ever.

He, my gracious surety,
apprehended for payment of my debt,
comes forth from the prison house of the grave
free, and triumphant over sin, Satan, and death.
Show me herein the proof that his vicarious offering is accepted,
that the claims of justice are satisfied,
that the devil’s sceptre is shivered,
that his wrongful throne is levelled.
Give me the assurance that in Christ I died, in him I rose,
in his life I live, in his victory I triumph,
in his ascension I shall be glorified.

Adorable Redeemer,
thou who wast lifted up upon a cross
art ascended to highest heaven.
Thou, who as Man of sorrows wast crowned with thorns,
art now as Lord of life wreathed with glory.
Once, no shame more deep than thine,
no agony more bitter, no death more cruel.
Now, no exaltation more high,
no life more glorious, no advocate more effective.
Thou art in the triumph car leading captive thine enemies behind thee.
What more could be done than thou hast done!
Thy death is my life,
thy resurrection my peace,
thy ascension my hope,
thy prayers my comfort.

Grace and peace,
Will

Dear Church Family

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the beautiful cards, thoughtful texts, kind emails, comforting calls, and the steady support and prayers you’ve offered during the passing of my father. In a season that has been heavy and emotional, your love has been a true source of strength.

I have been overwhelmed—in the best way—by the compassion you’ve shown. Moments like these remind me just how blessed I am to belong to this congregation. You have surrounded me with grace, lifted me with your prayers, and reminded me that no one in this Church family walks through sorrow alone.

Your kindness has been a reflection of Christ’s love, and I am deeply grateful.

With love and appreciation,

Angela Himegarner

Blue Hymnals

Last call for taking home a blue hymnal!

The blue hymnals will be removed from the Narthex after service on Sunday, April 12th. If you want to take some home, please do so before then, or contact Amy Lewis at WorshipAndMusicElder@myfpc.org.

Thank You from Worship and Music

I want to extend a heartfelt thanks for the beautiful and deeply meaningful Good Friday Cantata. The dedication of those who participated, along with Jamison’s leadership and musical vision, created a worship experience that truly touched our hearts and enriched our observance of that sacred day. The music was not only inspiring, but also a powerful expression of faith that resonated with all of us.

Through experiences like this, we are reminded of the importance of faithful stewardship within our church. The generosity of tithes and offerings helps make programs like this possible, supporting the musicians, resources, and planning that bring such meaningful worship to life. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to and sustain ministries that uplift our congregation in such profound ways.

–Amy Lewis, Elder of Worship and Music

“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
Romans 12:12

We exist as a congregation to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known:

  • To proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ so all may come to know and love Him;
  • To nurture His people in joyful faith, fellowship, and commitment; and
  • To demonstrate His way of love in service to the world.

We use the Connector to share news of the coming week and beyond, the activities that involve a wide range of ages and interests at FPC.

When life is hard you need more than a cute poster.

If you are having a tough time with:
• Dealing with family problems
• Chronic or terminal illness in your family
• Grief
• Loneliness
• Divorce recovery

FPC has a group of Stephen Minister Caregivers trained to walk with you through these problems. They help you think things through, find resources available, look for a Biblical view of the problem, pray for you and with you if you wish. The 50 hours of training have provided them with an understanding of reflective listening, boundaries, and the importance of absolute confidentiality.

Since its beginning in 2017, Stephen Ministries helped hundreds of people both from FPC and the wider community journey through tough times.  If you want more information, you can talk to a pastor, a deacon, or one of the active Stephen Ministers listed below.
