Welcome from Pastor Kristin Frederich

Dear Friends,

Why do I call you ‘Friends?’  It’s true that many in this Church Family I will meet for the first time on Kick-Off Sunday, September 13th! But, as a long-time resident of Waunakee with sons who graduated from WHS, there are LOTS of people I already know and love. In the past several weeks, I’ve made over a dozen new friends in the corridors and kitchen of this church. I am confident that after lunch on Sunday, I will make many, many more friends.

You are my friends, because the reality is that I have been praying for this congregation for many years. “In my prayer for you, I pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now… because I hold you in my heart, for you are partakers with me of grace…” (Philippians 1).

Early members from the little white church downtown, John & Peg Gorsuch became part of the family of faith in Cambria, Wisconsin, with whom it was my privilege to serve as Pastor for 18 years. Further, friends, you may not know it but many of our pastoral colleagues in the John Knox Presbytery DAILY PRAY for our pastors, their families and churches.

I appreciate that you are already my friends because Pastor Ben’s absence for four months leaves super hard shoes to fill. I know I will not fill them. Instead, I will work to follow in Ben’s large footprints hoping that all of you will help me find and pick up the crumbs Ben may have left along his Way of Caring. I am grateful to be in gospel partnership with the Deacons, Elders, Staff and Stephen Ministers.

Thank YOU, Body of Christ in this place, for reaching out to each other in care & friendship! If you know of someone who is in need of special care please contact the Church Office, or call Ben’s number – & you will find me!

Since I am only supposed to do Pastoral Care & Visitation in 10 hours a week, I will have office hours on Wednesdays, and I will be with you in worship most every Sunday.

In Holy Anticipation,

Pastor Kristin Frederich

  • To demonstrate His way of love in service to the world.

We use the Connector to share news of the coming week and beyond, the activities that involve a wide range of ages and interests at FPC.

When life is hard, you need more than a cute poster.

When you or someone you know is having a tough time in life, trying to handle things like:

• Grief or loss
• Chronic or terminal illness
• Job loss or financial strain
• Loneliness or major life transitions (empty nest, relocation, etc.)
• Divorce or separation

FPC has a group of highly trained caregivers who can help out during these and other difficult situations. Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who have been carefully selected and trained to support people going through a hard time. A Stephen Minister meets with a person regularly, one to one, just to listen and care and walk with that person throughout that difficult time.

Men are paired with men, and women with women. Stephen Ministers understand reflective listening, healthy boundaries, and strongly support the importance of absolute confidentiality. Since its beginning at FPC in 2016, our Stephen Ministers have helped dozens of people both from FPC and the wider community journey through tough times.

For more information about FPC’s Stephen Ministry, talk to Pastor Ben, any Deacon, or one of FPC’s Stephen Leaders, Kristy Drewry or Jamie Roberts, at anytime.
