Weekly Connector: May 3 – May 9

May 1, 2020 by Janna Leslie

Our FPC Family at Home: Eric Ross and Jenna O’Connor Ross are making beautiful music together

Enjoy this rendition of “All of Me” recorded at Eric and Jenna’s home. We are blessed to have these talented musicians as part of our Worship Team!

What are YOU doing at home?
We want to see what’s going on at your house! Please send us pictures or video links so our church family can feel connected when we can’t physically be together. Send your photos, links of your 1-2 minute video, or stories to communications@myfpc.org so we can share it in an upcoming Connector. Let’s be intentional about Living Faith Together!

It’s Confirmation Sunday!

A pre-quarantine picture of the FPC confirmation students.

This Sunday, May 3 will be a special service led by Ezrah Schmeelk, Director of Student Ministry, and the 12 FPC students that have completed confirmation. You won’t want to miss this heartfelt service of student testimonies and stories of how they have grown in their faith through the confirmation process. Let the excitement of these teens inspire growth in your own spiritual journey!

A “Thank You” from Jerry & Pat Ronspiez

Pat Ronspiez, FPC Organist, with the beautiful flowers she received from well-wishers

Battling cancer during a pandemic is tough. But the FPC family isn’t letting Jerry and Pat Ronspiez feel isolated! They have received drop-offs of food and flowers, many thoughtful cards and phone calls, and plenty of prayers for healing.

Thanks so much for the cards, prayers, meals, flowers and phone calls that have been shared with us. We have really felt the love and concern from our congregation. It keeps us feeling connected. May God be will you all!

Jerry & Pat

They also want to express their thanks for the wonderful restaurant gift certificates Pat was given to celebrate 35 years of service as Organist at FPC. We THANK YOU, Pat!

Video Devotional: You Were Created for Good Work

Bethel Series Executive Director and FPC member, Rev. Jeff Quinto, talks about an important truth, “You Were Created for Good Works.”

Vacation Bible School Postponed Until August

Rocky Railway VBS has not been derailed, we’re just taking another track! Due to COVID-19, we are postponing our traintastic week to August 16-20, 5-8pm, in hopes we can come aboard then!

Railway ticket information will be coming to you near the end of June.

In good times and rocky times, Jesus’ power pulls us through!

Online Safety Information for Families

A Digital Citizenship lesson has been added to the Parent Resources Section of FPC Google Classroom. The video highlights the importance of being safe while online. This information is typically a part of a K-5 education structure. We hope this video is a good resource and inspires helpful conversations with your child about being safe online.

If you have questions or would like additional resources then please reach out to Shane Fisher at fishe1sr@gmail.com for more information about teaching your child to be safe online.

Drive-through Food Drive for the Waunakee Food Pantry

On Sunday, May 17th FPC will be hosting a drive-through food drive to benefit the Waunakee Food Pantry. Come to the FPC parking lot anytime from 1-3 pm. It’s easy to donate and you won’t even have to leave your car! Just follow these easy steps:

  1. Place non-perishable food and paper good donations in your
vehicle’s trunk before driving to FPC.
  2. Wait patiently in the car line to enter unloading area.
  3. Upon reaching the unloading area open your trunk and an attendant will remove the items.

Thank you so much for supporting the Waunakee Food Pantry. Visit www.waunakeefoodpantry.org for updated needs lists and information on other ways to help.
