Midweek Lenten Services
Our midweek Lenten services have focused on the beatitudes. One of my seminary professors, George Hunsinger, wrote a short book of reflections on each one. This past Wednesday, I shared a reflection on the beatitude that says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Here is a passage from Hunsinger on this beatitude that captures the essence of the redemptive work of Christ for us and on our behalf:
Jesus himself is our righteousness, because he bears and bears away the unbearable consequences of sin for our sakes. He takes our sin and death to himself and gives us his righteousness and life. This is the great exchange (admirabile commercium) that forms the deepest mystery of our salvation ( 2 Cor 5:21). It is God’s negation of our negation. In handing himself over to sin and death and rising again from the dead, Jesus saw the travail of his soul and was satisfied (Isa 53:11). He himself is the righteousness of God in whom all unrighteousness, whether vertical or horizontal, is overcome.

Easter Flower Fundraiser – Final Sunday to Purchase
FPC Choir is hosting an Easter Flower Fundraiser beginning Sunday, March 1. Celebrate the season by purchasing beautiful flowers—including lilies, tulips, and more—which may be dedicated in honor or in memory of a loved one. These plants will help decorate our sanctuary for Easter worship and can be taken home afterward. Proceeds will support the choir’s music and guest musicians. Order forms will be available after worship services today.

Join the Choir for a Special Lenten Offering
Join the FPC Choir as we journey through Lent and prepare a Good Friday Cantata, retracing Christ’s final days and journey to the cross through narration and song. This is a wonderful opportunity to sing with the choir without a long-term commitment. Singers of all experience levels are welcome, and music will be provided. The FPC Choir will also be joined by singers from other Waunakee churches as we come together in ecumenical worship.
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings starting at 7PM, and there will also be a rehearsal the weekend of Palm Sunday. Sign-Up HERE or email jwendlandt@myfpc.org to learn more.

Help Create a Safe & Welcoming Space on Sundays
FPC is looking for caring, observant volunteers to serve as House Managers during Sunday services. This role helps ensure a safe and welcoming environment by monitoring the building and surroundings during worship.
If you’re calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and enjoy supporting others behind the scenes, we’d love to have you on the team!
Agrace Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to assist customers and operate the cash register at the Doc Rock Café located inside the Agrace Madison campus or make companionship visits to local Agrace hospice patients in patients’ homes, nursing homes or assisted living centers.
Schedules are flexible, and free training is provided. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Agrace at (608) 327-7163 or visit Agrace.org/Volunteer to apply online.
Volunteer Opportunity – Waunakee Food Pantry
Serve & Support Our Community – Volunteer or Donate!
We’re looking for volunteers to help distribute food from 4 – 6 PM the last Wednesday of each month to help serve our community. It’s a great way to connect with others and make a meaningful impact.

Bethel Bible Series
FPC Nursery for Ages 4 and under
Nursery Age 4 and Under – Room 200
The Nursery is available on Sundays from 9 – 11:00 AM throughout the month and is staffed by church staff and volunteers who love children and want to share God’s love with them.
Attention Young Musicians
If you sing, play piano, organ, a string, woodwind or brass instrument and would like to sing or play a song during a church service, we’d LOVE to hear you!

When life is hard you need more than a cute poster.
If you are having a tough time with:
• Dealing with family problems
• Chronic or terminal illness in your family
• Grief
• Loneliness
• Divorce recovery
FPC has a group of Stephen Minister Caregivers trained to walk with you through these problems. They help you think things through, find resources available, look for a Biblical view of the problem, pray for you and with you if you wish. The 50 hours of training have provided them with an understanding of reflective listening, boundaries, and the importance of absolute confidentiality.
Since its beginning in 2017, Stephen Ministries helped hundreds of people both from FPC and the wider community journey through tough times. If you want more information, you can talk to a pastor, a deacon, or one of the active Stephen Ministers listed below.
