Youth Mission
Youth Mission serves as a catalyst for a student's faith formation. It is a chance for them to put hands and feet on their call to serve Jesus with all of their lives. FPC values this great opportunity for students and makes a great effort to provide chances for students to participate in mission.
Monthly Service Opportunities
Each month, we find a way for students to serve either in the Waunakee community or at First Presbyterian Church. Ways we have done this in the past have been:
- sorting clothing donations at Middleton Outreach Ministry
- volunteering at the Waunakee Ecumenical Board Food Pantry
- serving as ushers and greeters at FPC
- raising money during our Christmas celebration for hungry families in Mexico
ZOO YouthWorks! Trip
YouthWorks! has been providing excellent mission camps for over 16 years. Our middle school students will travel to Green Bay where they will work with different kinds of people in an urban setting. They might volunteer in a nursing home, community center (like The Boys & Girls' Club), prepare a meal at a homeless shelter, or sort through donations at a local food and clothing pantry. They'll have time in the evening to debrief with our group about their experience and also to enjoy the Green Bay culture.
Mission to Mexico 2010Mission to Mexico
For five years, (grace)land has partnered with Amor Ministries in the Tijuana, Mexico area. High school students and adult leaders travel south of the border to build homes for impoverished Mexican families. We also have morning devotions, evening campfire worship, and teaching built into the week so we can better understand how our time in Mexico relates to our trust in Jesus and His Kingdom.
Project (LOVE)
Project (LOVE) 2010
Project (LOVE) is a one-day volunteer initiative for middle school and high school students in Waunakee and the greater Madison area. We participate in different activities throughout the community to share our time and the love and hope of Jesus.
