Mission of the Month:
Each month, we highlight one of our many mission opportunities to the congregation to give greater awareness to these worthy causes. Check back here each month for the new "Mission of the Month!"
Heifer International "Passing on the Gift"
"Passing on the Gift" is one of the cornerstones of Heifer International, and the heart of their sustainable community development philosophy. Every family who receives an animal signs a contract to pass on one or more of their animal's offspring to another family in need, along with sharing the training and skills that the family acquired through Heifer International. This unique approach creates a ripple effect that transforms lives and communities. The gift of an animal starts the ripple/chain of sharing; we can begin a ripple by dropping quarters in the Goat Tube in the lobby/narthex. A full tube of quarters will purchase one goat.
Stop by the table this month for more information and other ways to help families in need in the US and around the world.
