Network 56
This program for 5th and 6th graders encourages fun and healthy friendships in a Christian group of young people. Network 56 aims to connect our students with the community while building relationships with each other. ***15 kids attended the Kick-off on Nov 5--lots of fun and room for everyone to participate in future events***
• All 5th and 6th grade students are welcome to attend Network 56 events at any time. Interested participants are notified in advance of each event.
• Past fellowship activities have included sledding, swimming, mini-golf, and bowling. Service projects have involved collecting donations for the Waunakee Food Pantry, fundraising for the Humane Society, and making 3D snowflakes to raise money for a good cause chosen by our students.
• All events are chaperoned by parents.  See dates listed below.  Contact Debby Ochoa, Network 56 Coordinator, or Lori Phelps, Director of Children & Family Ministries, to learn more.

FPC's Parents of Little Ones (P.O.L.O.) Playdates
Looking for something new to do during the week? How about a casual play hour with other babies, toddlers, and adults. Bring your little ones to play and yourself to connect with other parents (or grandparents).  Adults are asked to stay with their children.  Meet in the FPC Nursery located on the first floor Education Wing on Thursday, December 7 from 10:00 to 11:00am.

Children’s Nativity Service, Saturday, December 23, 4:00pm
Registration forms available at Children's Ministry Check-in Desk at Education Wing entrance, or by clicking button below, or on the Christmas page (see main menu above).
Will you be home for the holidays? If so, you’ll want to make plans now to bring the kids to our unique and moving family service celebrating the birth of Jesus. Children ages 4 and up are encouraged to participate. The service brings the Christmas story to life in a way you will always remember!
• Our narrator reads the story of Christ’s birth.
• Cued by adults, costumed children act out a mini live nativity while child musicians perform.
• The audience sings familiar carols throughout the presentation.
• Adult volunteers are always welcome to help in the preparations for this event.
After service we celebrate Jesus’ birthday with birthday cupcakes for all. Please also consider bringing unwrapped baby gifts (diapers, clothes, toys, etc.), and place them at the table in the lobby for our dedication. Children can also provide music! Children (grades 1-12) can also sing or play an instrument as part of the service. Their piece need not be long or complicated; it just needs to be about Jesus. Parents can help too! We need parents to dress children in costumes, to organize each group of lambs, angels, etc., and to cue them to enter the Sanctuary. We also need a few strong adults to reorganize the Sanctuary. If your child is interested in participating as a character or by providing music, or if you have any questions, contact Lori Phelps at (608) 849-4625 ext. 511 or lphelps@myfpc.org

FPC’s FPC (First Publically Recognized Communion), Sunday, February 4, 2018
The Presbyterian church believes it is the right and responsibility of parents to decide when their child is ready to participate in Communion. Anyone who professes faith in Jesus Christ, including children, can take Communion at any time during a Communion service at FPC (usually the first Sunday each month, plus Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve). Communion reminds us of Jesus’ love and sacrifice for us. For FPC families who would like to publically recognize this important moment in their child’s faith journey, we designate a communion Sunday each year to invite children to come forward to receive the sacrament and a special blessing in a public recognition during worship service. This may be your child’s first Communion, but even children who have taken Communion for a while and wish to be publicly recognized are invited to participate.

Bible Presentations (see dates below)
It is a valued tradition at FPC to present a complimentary, age-appropriate Bible to our children at both preschool age and again after 6th grade to use in growing their faith.
