Susan Vergeront
Associate Pastor Discipleship & Christian Nurture

Pastor Susan received her Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 1995. She served as Pastor at Stoney Hills Church in Germantown Wisconsin, Willow Creek Presbyterian Church in Caledonia Illinois, First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo Iowa. before accepting the position as Associate Pastor for Discipleship and Christian Nurture here at FPC. Her areas of ministry include Christian education for all ages, mission, fellowship and outreach. She would tell you her passion in ministry is helping people connect and grow in their faith.

Prior to her call to ministry, Susan served in the Wisconsin State Assembly as Representative from the Ozaukee County Area from 1984 to 1994. She has three grown children and four grandchildren.

When speaking of her position of pastor of Discipleship and Christian Nurture, she said:

"I believe that it is important to understand how these individual ministries work in synergy to help each of us grow in the knowledge and faith of God! Faith without knowledge grows stale.. Faith without works, (we read in the book of James), is dead. Faith without community is hollow. Faith without sharing becomes shallow.

All of these ministries, in fact all the work of the church involves nurture and discipleship! I am so grateful for the opportunity I have here to work with you all to help us stretch our faith until we are a vibrant community reaching out to others."
